Feb 2017 Stamp Release

Helloooooo!! I know, I know...............I haven't been a 'good blogger' recently but this time with good reason!! I have been super busy behind the scenes designing some brand new stamp sets that will sit very nicely with my existing flower stamps. I really am super excited about these latest sets and I am keeping everything crossed that you like them too!

Below is a fabulous video that Leandra has made showing my latest releases.

Below is a just a little peek using a mixture from two of the sets!!

And here's one more peek at another stamp set.

I haven't been busy on my own though.............I've had my two old Craft Barn buddies helping me out - Christine Dark and Helen Chilton. Both of them are super talented, amazing artists in their own right so I felt very honoured when they agreed to help out with my February 2017 stamp launch. (Love you guys!!!)

Below are just a couple of peeks of some of the amazing samples that Helen Chilton designed. Helen never fails to amaze me at her diversity and ability to see things in a different light - she is such an incredibly talented person. Please do head on over to Helen's blog to find out more information on how she achieved all of her beautiful, detailed samples.

Next I thought I'd tease you some more with a couple of peeks of Chris Dark's fantastic samples. Chris is my friend whom I 'love to hate' as she never fails to amaze me with what she can create with paint, inks and stamps - I am always left in awe and wishing that I could do that.................hence the love/hate thing!! Again please do head on over to Chris's blog to see her amazing samples in their entirety and to hear from Chris how she went about creating them.

I hope this has whet your appetite to go and find out more! So for the full reveal please do head on over to PaperArtsy's blog where you will find some step outs showing how I achieved a couple of my projects as well as showing the full release of my latest stamps and what my super talented buddies created with them. These are all available now from the stockists listed at the end of the post over on PaperArtsy's blog. Ssshhhhhhhhh..............don't tell anyone that I told you but there will also be some stencils to go with these stamps very soon!!!!

I'll be back tomorrow at midday with some detailed step out pictures showing how I achieved another of my makes.

Love Kay xx

Winner will be announced onStencilGirl's Facebook page and PaperArtsy's blog on Sunday, January 1.

Without further ado below is my contribution of using one of my own PaperArty's stamp sheets with some of the fabulous Stencil Girl's stencils :).

One of the things that I really got into a few years ago after being a bit dubious of them was stencils and since then I tend to use them with most of my creations. I love how they can add texture and interest in an entirely different way to when we use stamps for this same purpose.

For this card I chose to incorporate four different stencils by Stencil Girl Products to create all my background interest and kept the stamps purely to add all my foreground imagery. (Often I will use stamps to add further background interest but due to all the layering with the stencils I felt it wasn't required here.)

I chose to combine my EKC03 stamp set along with the fabulous stencils by Stencil Girl Products.

So.....................here's how I went about creating the card!

Step One: Paint a 10.5x21cm white panel with Fresco Finish Dusty Teal paint. Ensure the panel is dry then mask off sections of the top and base with sticky notes. (I masked off approx 2cm at the top and 3.5cm at the base.

Step Two: Take the large L169 Crackle stencil, place over the panel and sponge through Snowflake Fresco Finish paint. Heat set.

Step Three: Place the top edge of the S142 Bubbles stencil with the edge of the top sticky note and tape into position with low tack tape. Add another sticky note at the base of the stencil then sponge through Hint of Mint Fresco Finish paint. Heat set.

Step Four: Remove the stencil and extra sticky note and low tack tape and sponge a very light layer of Hint of Mint over the panel between the two original sticky notes.

Step Five: Stencil in some foliage using S078 Swatton Flowers along with Dusty Teal Fresco Finish. (As you can see I used some low tack tape to mask off certain areas of the stencil.)

Step Six: Here's what it now looks like. After evaluating it I decided that there wasn't enough contrast in colour between my first two stencils - the crackle one and the bubbles one.)

Step Seven: So...........I popped the bubbles stencil back over my previous stencilled circles and once again held it in place with some low tack tape and added an extra sticky note to the base before sponging through Beach Hut Fresco Finish - directly on top of the circles I had previously stencilled with Hint of Mint.

Step Eight: After heat setting I then began stamping my composition with Jet Black Archival onto the panel; still with the original two sticky notes in place. I also stamped two images of the daisy heads  and some butterflies onto a piece of Smoothy card.

Step Nine: I painted the imagery on the panel and the extra stamped bits using Fresco Finish paints in Snowflake, Dolly Mix, Amethyst, South Pacific, Zesty Zing, Pumpkin Soup and Pearl Glaze (for the butterfly wings).

Step Ten: Heat set the panel. Remove the sticky notes and this time use them to mask off the stamped part of the panel. Take the S279 Night Sky stencil and sponge through Dolly Mix Fresco Finish to decorate the top and base areas of the panel. Heat set.

Step Eleven: Paint a strip of Snowflake Fresco Finish along the base of the panel, heat set and then stamp the wording with Jet Black Archival ink. Add some doodled lines using a 0.3mm black multi-liner where the different parts of the panel meet each other and under the wording and then paint between these lines with Snowflake Fresco Finish.

Step Twelve: Add some shadowing around the stamped imagery using a Black Soot Distress Marker and lightly add some colour to the wording using Mustard Seed and Seedless Preserves Distress Markers. Take an opaque white pen and colour in the middles of the Dolly Mix stars.

Step Thirteen: Adhere the panel to a same size card blank. Cut out and mount the daisy heads and butterflies to the panel and add some Stardust glitter glue for sparkle!

Many thanks for visiting! I hope you like the finished item!

My two new stamp releases!!
This flower set (EKC03) has been designed to work with my previous two sets thus allowing lots of different compositions to be achieved when using them altogether. Once again I've drawn the elements with straight stems so that they can be manipulated and bent when placing them onto an acrylic block thus allowing greater versatility! Plus the flowers and the leafy sprig can be joined up (using very simple masking) to achieve taller flowers etc... And of course I included some extra imagery such as the tiny butterflies and little flower heads to give more options for your stamped compositions :).

As well as my flower stamp sheet, I have also designed a winter one (EKC04) full of snowflakes (as you can see!) - I just love snowflake stamps so it just had to be done! I've varied the size and the designs of them all to give greater versatility - meaning that they can be used to create backgrounds or used as main imagery. The two different curved garlands at the top of the sheet have been designed to work with each other, simply by layering them up - which you can see on the card I made for this launch over on PaperArtsy's blog http://blog.paperartsy.co.uk/…/new-pa-products-by-kay-carle…. I've included two different styles of dotty borders which can be used to dangle the snowflakes from to make them hang from the garlands or I thought they could also be used as stems to make snowflake flowers by bending them before stamping them out. There are also two different sizes of dots to create snowy backgrounds and a beautiful snowy swirl.

You can find stockists of these sheets by visiting PaperArtsy's blog and scrolling down to the bottom of the post.

Darting Dragonflies

As promised I am back with another Hunkydory Stylish Silhouettes make.

I just love how because of the quality of Hunkydory's foiling and laser cutting that you can so easily make a quality looking card with the minimum of effort and hardly any materials!! This card only used a 7x7 card blank and one of the foiled sheets out of the 6x6 pad and a couple of laser cut dragonflies!!
The stamps used are from the Wishes On Wings Floral Wishes stamp set - love this one!! All the colouring was achieved using Copics. I kept the laser cuts plain for this one and mounted them with the reverse side showing as I liked the scorched detailing on this side that the laser leaves behind!!
All of these fab new products are now available direct from Hunkydory Crafts :).

Hope to be back again soon with some more makes!!

Sweet Like Honey

Hi everyone. It's no secret that I just love the quality of Hunkydory's products so recently I had a play using their new Stylish Silhouettes along with their Wishes On Wings foiled 6x6 pad and matching clear stamps which all recently launched on Create and Craft.
This card uses a combination of the foiled pad, one of the matching stamp sets and a couple of the Stylish Silhouettes laser cut sheets. All the imagery was coloured with Copics. As you can see I coloured in the foiled honeycomb with yellow and orange Copics and also lightly stamped and embossed the background using VersaMark and Crystal embossing powder.

Stylish Silhouettes are a brand new release from Hunkydory - these are beautifully laser cut imagery which are just so intricate. I loved playing around with these products!! The bee (holding the trail of the word) is one of the fabulous laser cuts as too is the Sweet Like Honey sentiment. All the other imagery was taken from the matching clear stamp sheet and coloured with Copics.

A really simple card which was a joy to make thanks to the quality of Hunkydory's products.

I've made quite a few cards so I will be back to show you another one soon!

Meanwhile just a heads up to let you know that next Thursday (5th May) I will be demoing the new Gemini machine along with some of the new Die-sire Create a Card Bases, Downton Abbey Filigree dies and Leonie Pujol's masks/stencils and co-ordinating stamps at Sharon's Card Crafts in Swanley.
